Students from Morocco, Netherlands, Germany and the US are taking part in the Winter School 2012, organized annually by Jacobs University’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Courses, starting on January 9 and running until the end of the month, can vary in length covering between four days and three weeks.
Africa’s Role in the 21st Century, Chinese Cinema: History, Genres and Analysis and Mixed Methods count among the most popular subjects.
This year, Jacobs University has also teamed up with its ERASMUS partner University College Utrecht to offer the course Human Trafficking: An International Perspective by Prof. Dr. Alex Aronowitz.
The Winter School courses are designed for students enrolled in a college or university or for exceptionally qualified High School Graduates, who can earn between 2.5 and 5 ECTS credits which they can transfer to their home institution.
Antonia Gohr, Director, Office for Academic Affairs at Jacobs University, says „We are very pleased about the increased interest in our Winter School offerings. Students will benefit from the interesting courses, international guest lecturers and exciting and rewarding discussions with international visiting students. We are looking forward to welcoming our Winter School guests on campus in January!”
