4th ECPR Graduate Conference

BIGSSS will be organizing the 4th ECPR Graduate Conference from July 4 - 6, 2012, on the Jacobs Campus with some 600 participants.
On July 4, 2012, the keynote address will be given by Michael Zürn. Afterwards a barbecue is planned.
On July 5, 2012, a town hall reception will take place. Furthermore, roundtables concerning topics such as 'Careers outside Academia', 'Publishing the PhD Thesis' and 'Going East' are planned.
About the ECPR
The European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR) is an independent, scholarly association, established in 1970. The ECPR supports and encourages the training, research and cross-national co-operation of political scientists throughout Europe and beyond through its programme of highly-regarded conferences and methods schools, funding opportunities and its prestigious publishing portfolio.
The ECPR currently has around 400 European institutional members and associate members in over 50 countries, from as far afield as New Zealand and Japan. These members together form a network of thousands of individual political scientists, international relations and European studies specialists, all of whom benefit from their institution’s membership to the ECPR in a great number of ways.
The Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences (BIGSSS) was opened in 2008 and is a joint ”Excellence Initiative” project by Jacobs University and the University of Bremen. As a provider of excellent international doctoral education BIGSSS aims to integrate outstanding areas of graduate education and research at both higher education institutions. BIGSSS is founded upon the core disciplines of political science, sociology, and psychology, and supported by a solid foundation in social-science methods.
