Jacobs University Bremen is seeking a dynamic individual to advance our transdisciplinary environment for learning and research. The successful candidate is expected to play a prominent role in research and in the further development of undergraduate and graduate education.

Your responsibilities:

She/he will be responsible for: a) developing research projects and applying for third party funding; b) designing and delivering courses; c) supervising student projects; as well as d) mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. The language of instruction is English.

Your qualifications:

The successful candidate must have an international track record of excellence in research, teaching, and funded projects in a discipline/field related to the denomination of the position, e.g., big data technologies and data integration, privacy and security, data mining, scalable processing of sensor and telemetry data, internet of things / cyber physical systems.

She/he must hold a PhD degree in computer science (or a related research field) at the time of the application and will take responsibility for relevant courses in undergraduate and graduate teaching offered within Jacobs University’s focus area “Mobility – of People, Goods, and Information”. An initial contract will cover three years. Following successful evaluation, tenure is possible.
