College Nordmetall
College Nordmetall is the newest and largest of the colleges. The official unveiling of the college was April 29, 2009 and since then we have been working hard to make our mark on campus life. The building we are living in has been transformed into a place we can now call home and we hope that this will quickly have the same sense of belonging for every new student who decides to join us.
The first students moved into their new home in January 2009 when several parts of the building were still under construction. They named themselves the “College IV Pioneers” as the college hadn't got its permanent name back then. Together with the highly committed college office team the pioneers supported the ongoing construction, brought life into the new college and shaped it for future generations of students. For you.

but don't worry - we have come a long way since then!
The college has 83 double and 100 single apartments and offers the newest and most exciting recreational facilities to its students: a huge common room complete with air hockey, table football, pool and darts; a multimedia room to watch films and play PS3; three sports rooms for table tennis, dance and martial arts and a picturesque garden.
Since then we have also taken many steps towards forming our college identity which is an ongoing process in which everyone has a chance to be actively involved and really see their ideas take shape. Students are the centre of life here in College Nordmetall joined by the College Masters, the Heine Family, and the Resident Associates, Rajesh, Mircea, Arcan and Güray. This support network is here to look after students in all aspects of non-academic life at Jacobs. The College Office is the hub of college life and run by a committed group of Nordies and the COM. They deal with everything from organising events to decorating college to making sure life runs smoothly for everyone here.
Last but not least, Nils the polar bear is our precious mascot who has become an integral part of all college and campus events.
