General Information
The 9th European Conference on Nonlinear Optical Spectroscopy (ECONOS), to be held in Bremen, Germany, on 21st – 23rd of June 2010 is a continuation of annual meetings devoted to different issues in the rapidly expanding field of nonlinear optical spectroscopy. ECONOS has emerged in 2002 to widen the agendas of the former annual European CARS (Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Scattering) workshops (ECW, held since 1982) and to cover all forms of non-linear optical spectroscopy, theoretical and experimental studies, and applications. Topics include, but are not limited to, Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Spectroscopy CARS, other forms of coherent Raman spectroscopy, Four-Wave Mixing and different third-(or higher)-order responses in the time and frequency domain and related techniques as well as to the physical and chemical processes defining the spectral signatures in different media. Contributions on applications in physics, chemistry, engineering, bio-medical research and other inter-disciplinary areas are particularly welcome.
The 9th annual ECONOS (29th ECW) meeting is organized by the Chemical Physics group of Jacobs University Bremen. Jacobs University is a private, independent research university, registered as a not-for-profit organization. It offers undergraduate and graduate education to students from 99 nations where only 20% are Germans. The language of instruction is English. As Campus University with an international atmosphere, Jacobs University offers the ideal venue for ECONOS. The chosen time slot in June falls on the semester break, which allows for the free use of lecture halls as well as colleges.
While this conference is not accompanied by an independent European Conference on CARS Microscopy (microCARS), nevertheless, special focus is set on the combination of nonlinear spectroscopy and microscopy.
