CoWell: Cognition, Values, and Well Being
We approach human agency through extensive research on Cognition, Values and Well-Being, examining how socially embedded individuals make choices that are good for the well-being of the individuals and of society. The Research Center is a unique endeavor bringing together economists, epidemiologists, political scientists, psychologists and sociologists under one thematic umbrella – human agency. In the light of the most recent empirical evidence CoWell finds support for a comprehensive process-tracing approach that cuts across disciplines and methodological orientations.
CoWell aims to:
a. establish an internationally competitive, trans-disciplinary research center in the social behavioral studies;
b. provide the breeding ground for third-party funded innovative research collaborations on cognition, decision-making, values and well-being;
c. run an excellent, fully third-part funded PhD program in decision sciences;
d. contribute results and training with relevance to ‘real world problems’.
