The Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach-Stiftung Donates College

[ Jan 12, 2001]  The Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach-Stiftung has donated 10 million DM to IUB to build the first residential college on its Campus. "This donation is of substantial value to International University Bremen–a private institution, not only from the financial point of view but also with regard to the further development of IUB" says IUB President Dr. Fritz Schaumann. "It is an important signal that the Krupp-Stiftung–being one of the most significant and established foundations in Germany sponsoring Science, Education, Health, Sports and Culture–supports IUB from the very beginning."

The college is the first of the three planned residential colleges of IUB and will bear the name "Alfried Krupp College." In August 2001 it will be ready to accommodate the first 100 to 120 IUB students who will start their studies at IUB in September 2001.
