IUB Volunteers - ohne geht's nicht!

[ Sep 07, 2001]  The IUB Volunteers, as they are known, began with a meeting of about twenty interested people in May of this year. These meetings, coordinated by Elisabeth Hasskamp, wife of IUB board member Dr. Peter Hasskamp, continued every two weeks from May onward. The volunteers worked closely with the Student Affairs office and were assisted and overseen by Andrea Gavriel, director of Resource Development at IUB.

Most of the volunteers live in Bremen-Nord, but they come from all over Bremen. Some are members of the Friends & Family Club or offer other financial support. Why? They are fascinated by the idea of a private international university and its impact on Bremen and Bremen-Nord. As Cornelia Lohmann, who spent two long days outside of Krupp College greeting new students will tell you, "something extremely exciting is happening in my neighborhood and I wanted to be a part of it."
