Olympic Spirit at IUB

For the fourth time the olympic spirit hits IUB! The IUB Olympix took place on September 24 / 26 as 14 teams, embodying the olympic motto "Swifter, Higher, Stronger", battled it out for the 12 medals in the disciplines soccer, volleyball, basketball and cheerleading. The overall winning trophy went to College III whose combined teams were awarded gold medals in three disciplines. Only in soccer did they have to concede defeat to the Krupp college team B.

[ Sep 28, 2004]  On Friday evening the Games opened with a grand ceremony. Artistic performances adjured both sportive high performance and the olympic spirit. The show program included dance acts, video clips and live music. Over 500 athletes, friends and family followed the opening ceremony as three student athletes "passed the flame" and the consul general of Greece, Roussos Kondourous, read the olympic oath.
