“The Making of IUB” - a story in pictures

[ Sep 25, 2001]  Photographic discoveries, documentation, and impressions: young Bremen photographers from the agency Fotoetage spent many months at International University Bremen.

They recorded the changes, large and small, as the campus transformed itself from the barracks and marching grounds of an army training school into the classrooms and walkways of a modern university. Unusual camera angles and unique subject matter offered an intriguing artistic comment on the campus conversion.

The exhibition, staged in conjunction with IUB's official opening, was on display in the 'Campus Chapel' at IUB until 22 September. The photographs will become part of a permanent collection at IUB and will be included in a larger exhibition to be held later this fall. The photographers, who include Michael Jungblut, Markus Meyer, Kay Michalak, Tristan Vankann, and Nikolai Wolff, will continue to document the changes and growth at IUB until April 2002.
