INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY BREMEN

blue print appears in a new outfit

Good things come in threes. On December 12, this year´s third issue of blue print, the bilingual university magazine of IUB, came out. Its layout has been further developed, enhancing the magazine character.

[ Dec 17, 2002]  Nevertheless, blue print readers will recognize the rubrics of the last number. Again, the magazine reports about the research at IUB, the college life, and subjects related to the surrounding region.

On the cover, the half-closed zipper implies the tight connection between opposing elements, the dissolving of borders. The leading article is entitled “Borderline.” It is dedicated to the research now being done on continental margins, where continents join the oceans and their biological, chemical and geological processes are closely connected.

Other issues, always presented in a comprehensible way, are the truth about the “Bermuda Triangle” myth, the possible dangers of mobile phone radiation, and the power of images. The new college master is introduced in an interview and the director of the Bremer Kunsthalle and an IUB professor discuss the van Gogh exhibition Felder. In view of the upcoming festivities, IUB students report about how Christmas is celebrated in their home countries and to round it off, they make some delicious suggestions for an international Christmas menu.

Have a good read!
