Cultural Splash at IUB

From April 11-16, IUB’s African, Black & Caribbean Student Association (ABCS) organised the Black History Week for the third time. A vivid mix of workshops, poetry, literature, movies and lectures offered diverse opportunities to learn more about African culture.

[ Apr 12, 2005]  Friends, host families, students, professors, staff and neighbours were invited to join activities on Saturday 16th. At 1 p.m. the varied program themed “Cultural Splash” started at the Campus Center. Participants enjoyed dance and music performances, poetry readings, lectures and a fashion parade. Speeches were delivered by Cleophas J. Tsokodayi, Deputy Ambassador of Zimbabwe to Germany and Prof. Dr. Gerhard Haerendel.

After a 40 minute soccer game between the ABCS and IUB'S All-Star team, a Big Barbeque together with a drumming workshop and art exhibition took place.
