Open Air Festival on IUB campus

   

On Saturday, May 28, a summer open air festival takes place on campus organised by IUB students. The festival starts at 12 p.m. Students, faculty, staff and friends come together to celebrate the end of the academic year. All Bremen citizens and neighbours are invited to join the open air event.

[ May 26, 2005]  The sports field will transform into a big party area. Visitors can look forward to culinary highlights such as Cocktails mixed by the Graduate Student Association, waffles baked by the Office of Career Services as well as a variety of snacks offered by “The Other Side”, IUB’s famous student bar. A flea market adds to "the spectacle". All generated money goes to the Kinderhospiz Löwenherz (children hospital) in Syke.

From 1 p.m. seven bands make sure that there is a party mood in the air. Another highlight is the student award ceremony at 4.30 p.m. Since three years student bestow different awards such as the “Teaching Award”, “Professor’s Social Involvement Award”, "Cultural Understanding Award" or the “Silent Hero Award”. The summer festival ends at about 8 p.m.
