Who Should Pay? Fundraising in the Education System

On 23 September the German Fundraising Society will hold the "Education 2005" event at International University Bremen (IUB). In speeches and workshops, the approximately 90 attendees from 60 schools, universities and community groups will discuss the opportunities and challenges of educational fundraising.

[ Sep 19, 2005]  (excerpt) Optimal Research and Teaching is only possible with the necessary facilities and materials, in addition to the need for qualified teaching and research staff. The financial needs are not covered through government funding. Education must look into new sources of financial support. Private schools and universities already depend on generous donor support. In the coming years private financial support within the public school system will become more necessary.
