INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY BREMEN

Open House at IUB

On Friday, November 25th, IUB welcomed nearly 200 university-bound students from high schools in the Bremen area and from other parts of Germany to join IUB students, faculty, and staff in order to learn about IUB’s academic and student life, scholarship and financial aid possibilities, career services, study abroad options, and more.

[ Nov 24, 2005]  Friday’s program began with a tour of the campus, lead by IUB students. It was followed by a "Mini Fair" which took place during lunch in the university's college dining halls. Visitors had the opportunity to ask students and professors about courses and clubs at IUB.

In the afternoon, professors, students and staff members introduced IUB’s concepts of academic and social life to an audience that filled the university’s main Conference Hall. Afterwards, guests had the option of attending a variety of smaller, more personalized sessions that addressed more specific topics. Examples of sessions that were offered included:

* A Closer Look at Biology and Life Sciences
* Exploring the Ocean Lab
* Integrated Social Sciences, Particularly Mass Communication
* Electrical Engineering, Cell Phone Technology and Other Related Topics
* History and More
* Studying Abroad: Experiences from Ireland and Transatlantic Exchange
* IUB Internship Experiences
* Admission and Financial Aid at IUB
* Living at a Residential University: Campus Life at IUB.
