Senator Lemke visits IUB

On January 17, Bremen's Senator for Education and Science, Willi Lemke, fielded questions from the Foundation of the German Industry Bremen fellows on the topic "Strengths and weaknesses of the educational system in Bremen."

[ Jan 18, 2006]  The catalyst for the question session was set by Senator Lemke's contribution to the series "Bremen Potentials" at the IUB University Club. The series hosts talks by prominent figures from the Bremen public scene on the opportunities and problems facing the Hanseatic town. Senator Lemke spoke enthusiastically about IUB's positive development and its reputation in Germany.

The Foundation of the German Industry (Die Stiftung der Deutschen Wirtschaft) is one of eleven German foundations supporting extraordinarily talented students by providing them with a rich offering of seminars and programmes for further education, in addition to financial support. The group of the Bremen fellows comprises fellows from the entire north-western Germany, including IUB students. It is mentored by Prof. Dr. Adalbert Wilhelm, Professor of Statistics as well as Ingo Kramer, the President of the Bremen Enterprise Associations.
