IUB Professor appointed Fellow of the World Innovation Foundation

The World Innovation Foundation (WIF) honoured Dr. Arnulf Materny, IUB Professor of Chemical Physics, with a Fellowship.

[ Feb 02, 2006]  Founded in 1992, the WIF is an independent think tank dealing with scientific, technological, engineering, and applied economic matters. Its membership, which numbers approximately 2,000 and includes more than 60 Nobel Prize winners, offers advice to governments and corporations throughout the world on a wide range of critical issues. The WIF has no direct financial ties to any governments or corporate entities. The goal of the WIF is to influence through the leading-edge knowledge of its members in concert with a nation’s indigenous scientists, engineers, technologists and inventors, what technologies should be developed for any particular nation.

After the nomination in September 2005 and subsequent peer assessment, Professor Materny was duly elected Fellow of the WIF by the end of last year.
