INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY BREMEN

Literature meets Multilingualism

On Wednesday, February 22, the 2006 University Club Lectures will continue. Prof. Dr. Immacolata Amodeo, Professor of Literature, will speak on the topic: "Literature and Multilingualism: Literature of migrant authors in Germany."

[ Feb 20, 2006]  Once a month, IUB professors offer an interested audience the opportunity to gain insights in their research. These lectures are organised by IUB's University Club and take place on campus. The second lecture of this year deals with a speical genre of literary texts written by migrant writers. Exile and displacement are often characteristics of the biographies of authors, who express themselves in a language different from their mother tongue. Professor Amodeo will introduce examples of literary texts that challenge the reader by their multilingualism.

The lecture is in German and lasts about 30 minutes. Beginning at 7 p.m. the lecture takes place at the IUB University Club.
