Blood Drive on IUB Campus

On March 8, 2006, the ‘Lions Campus Club' of the International University Bremen (IUB) in co-operation with the Red Cross will host a blood drive. The fully equipped mobile donation facility of the Red Cross, open to blood donors from 11 a. m. to 5 p. m., is stationed in front of IUB’s Faculty Club.

[ Mar 07, 2006]  Students, staff, faculty, and IUB neighbors are called to take part in the blood drive. Donating blood will take one hour, including a restorative snack. All potential blood donors are asked to bring their identity cards along and – if available – their blood donation documents.

IUB 'Lions Campus Club' established June 1, 2005, as an full member of the international Lions Club network. As the first campus based club in Germany the ‘Lions Campus Club ' aims at strengthening the bond of all groups on the IUB campus – students, lecturers, and employees – by common activities. The idea behind the Lions Club emerged in the United States nearly 100 years ago during the First World War. Under the guidance of the founding father Melvin Jones, a few idealistic people united in order to face social problems of their time. Today the entire number of Lions Clubs Members worldwide amounts to 1,3 million in over 190 nations.
