At the end of August it is time again: more than 200 freshmen from all corners of the globe come to Bremen to live and study at IUB. For many of the Bachelor's students it is their first longtime stay far away from home. IUB's host family program helps students to establish personal interaction with families in Bremen and to become part of the Bremen community.

IUB is looking for new families who are interested in meeting young people from all over the world. Within this "family circle", students can experience German culture and way of life. Every contact develops individually. Cultural interaction is the core of the program. More than 500 students have met host families since the start of the program in 2001. Many contacts remain long after graduation, and many Bremen families have travelled to destinations formerly unknown to visit the families and native country of their "student".
