German Council of Astronomical Observatories meets at IUB

[ Sep 18, 2006]  On September 18, 2006, the German Council of Astronomical Observatories (Rat Deutscher Sternwarten, RDS) holds its second yearly assembly on the IUB campus. More then 30 representatives of all German astronomical institutions will attend the meeting. The RDS, in which IUB is a member since December 2005, promotes the common interests of astronomical researchers and research institutions regarding governmental and international organizations as well as sponsoring institutions. Founded in 1959 the RDS has 33 members, including 20 universities or university departments, seven Max Planck Institutes, and six more space research institutions and observatories.
