Olympic spirit at IUB

For the fifth time, the grand sportive tradition called the IUB Olympix will be taking place on Sunday, October 1 and Monday, October 2. At 10. a.m. the games will be opened. One of the most anticipated student events of the year, the IUB Olympix has been a showcase of college spirit and great team play. The three colleges, Krupp, Mercator and College III, as well as the graduate students and alumni, will be competing in "residence block teams" against each other to claim the much-coveted Olympix Cup.

[ Sep 29, 2006]  12 teams with more than 350 athlets compete against each other. This all university event offers students and IUB friends to get to know each other.

In addition to the staple sports of football, basketball and volleyball, this year's Olympix will also feature the fun games: arm-wrestling, relay race and tug-of-war. A highlight will be again the famous cheerleading competition of the three colleges.

With the Opening Ceremony, on Saturday evening, 8.30. p.m., set in IUB’s cinema, the IUB Olympix promises to be full of excitement, adrenaline and good old college cheers.
