On October 6, the inauguration of the second IUB president, Prof. Dr. Joachim Treusch took place in the Campus Center. For the first time in the history of the institution, faculty, students and employees gathered to celebrate the inauguration of a new president. The ceremony commenced at 3.30 p.m. with the procession of the new president with the faculty into the Conference Hall.

On behalf of the Academic Council, Dean Prof. Dr. Bernhard Kramer will gave the welcome address. Followed by addresses of the faculty, the Graduate Student Association, the Undergraduate Student Parliament and representatives of the administration. During the ceremony Prof. Dr. Treusch presented for the first time the President’s Award for Community Involvement. Musical highlights were provided by the student ensemble Nightrain to Jazzville.
