New IUB study program at international logistics congress in Berlin

From October 18 to 20, 2006, IUB will present its new BA program "International Logistics Management" at the 23rd Logistics Congress of the German Logistics Association (Bundesverband Logistik). 3000 guests and 230 exhibiting companies from more than 30 countries will participate in one of Europe's largest forums for logistics experts.

[ Oct 18, 2006]  Over the last three decades worldwide trade has increased twice as fast as the world economy because business and production processes have become increasingly global and networked. The growing recognition has of the value of more efficient management of supply chanins and transport has intensified the demand for people whose formal education straddels the interface between technology and management. Careers in this area now require unique language, communication, and social skills which IUB students bring with them and further develop through their coursework and their lives as members of a campus community representing 85 countries.

The modularized IUB study program, starting in fall 2007, provides students with a sound basis for developing and managing the procurement, as well as control of maintenance and transportation of material, personnel, equipment, and facilities. First-year courses provide a general overview, and those in the second and third year cover in-depth knowledge in the students’ area of specialization. The program includes a 6 month internship in an international logistics firm.
