Concert of Spanish Guitarist Fernando Espí

In cooperation with Instituto Cervantes, IUB cordially invites you to the concert of guitarist Fernando Espí on October 25, 8 p.m. The artist will present historical music using original period instruments. The concert will take place in the IUB’s Interfaith House.

[ Oct 23, 2006]  Fernando Espí was born in Jijona, Alicante in 1975. He studied at the Alicante Conservatoire, where he won the Outstanding Achievement Award for graduating students, before completing his postgraduate studies with Arnaldur Arnalson in Barcelona. For the past three years he has held a scholarship from the Association of Spanish Musicians to study the performance of historical music. He has won awards at various competitions, including the International Francisco Tárrega Guitar Competition in Benicasim, and was awarded the Special Prize for Best Performance of Spanish Music at the Sixteenth International Infanta Doña Cristina-Fundación Guerrero Guitar Competition.
