High ranking visitors on Campus

    

On January 12, 2007, two high ranking delegations visited the campus of Jacobs University: the ambassador of Kazakhstan, His Excellency Kairat Sarybay, and Prime Minister of the German federal state North Rhine-Westphalia, Jürgen Rüttgers.

[ Jan 15, 2007]  The ambassador met with the university’s president Joachim Treusch and other members of the university’s leadership as well as Kazakh and German students. Topics of the agenda were Jacobs University’s accreditation in Kazakhstan, possible scientific co-operations as well as student recruitment in Kazakhstan.

Jürgen Rüttgers, Prime Minister of North Rhine-Westphalia, visited Jacobs University in the cotext of the Bremen New Years reception of Christian Democratic Union (CDU). He was accompanied by the Bremen science deputies Wolfgang Schrörs and Iris Spies, the Bremen senator for construction, environment, and traffic, Ronald-Mike Neumeyer, as well as the leader of the Bremen CDU faction, Helmut Pflugradt, and MP Martin Roth. The political delegation also met with President Joachim Treusch as well as professors and students as dialogue partners on higher education and university research.
