Attention, decision, and action: ERASMUS intensive program on modelling in cognitive psychology

Currently, until January 29, Jacobs University Bremen hosts 30 students from nine European countries to participate in a 12-day intensive course in cognitive psychology. Coordinated by Adele Diederich, Professor of Psychology, the EU-supported ERASMUS program focuses on up-to-date application of mathematical and computational models in cognitive psychology.

[ Jan 19, 2007]  The student participants of the seminar "Mathematical and Computational Models of Attention, Decision, and Action (MCMPS)" from Austria, Belgium, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, and Scotland arrived late on January 18. The seminar consists of a daily program of lectures and tutorials by Jacobs University faculty as well as guest scientists. The students not only benefit from the on-campus expertise but also from the state-of-the-art laboratory set-ups in Jacobs University’s Lab III for behavioral and social sciences as well as the CLAMV (Computational Laboratory for Analysis, Modeling and Visualization).

The seminar is financed by the European educational programme ERASMUS. Established in 1987 it is one of the European Commission’s major initiatives for higher education. ERASMUS is an abbreviation of "European Region Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students". Its aim is to encourage and support academic mobility of higher education students and teachers within the European Union, the European Economic Area countries of Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein as well as the candidate country Turkey.
