"The historical donation of the Jacobs Foundation to the former International University Bremen is a groundbreaking success for university fundraising in Germany. The tribute for this is due to Jacobs University itself as well as to its president Joachim Treusch,” says Cornelia Kliment, laudator and chairwoman of the educational section of the German Fundraising Association. “Jacobs University with its forceful and fast-paced realization of its unique concept as international private elite university in Germany with a broad range of majors is the basis for the foundation’s commitment. It is the personal merit of Joachim Treusch, however, that by his performance as the university’s manager and his compelling authenticity he was able to gain Klaus Jacobs trust in the university’s concept, which not only motivated the patron and honorary chairman of the Jacobs Foundation to agree on providing the generous donation but also on giving the family name to the university as lasting support,” Kliment continued.
