JACOBS UNIVERSITY BREMEN

Jacobs University visits Weser Stadion

On September 23, sixty enthusiastic students and staff members of Jacobs University had the opportunity to explore the Weser Station, the home stadium of the famous home soccer club Werder Bremen. The guided tour was organized by the host family Cynthia and Udo Nieland for Jacobs University students, friends and faculty.

[ Sep 24, 2007]  The one-and-half hour tour started with a walk through the press conference room followed by a glace in the players’ locker room. Even though the Werder soccer team was not present many students used the opportunity to sit once on a seat usually used by the popular Brazilian player Ronaldinho. The tour proceeded through the players’ entrance to the neatly mowed playing field, which was impressive in the unusually sunny Bremen weather. The 42,100 seating stadium looked magnificent covered in green seats, green being the official Werder Bremen color. The participants had a once in a lifetime insight to the top VIP, business, press and media lounges. The last stop was the Werder Museum, also called Wuseum, which houses a life size picture gallery and numerous trophies won by Werder Bremen. The event was regarded a great success by all participants with an overwhelming request for a repetition of similar offers.
