Olympic spirit at and lots of fun at Jacobs University

For the sixth time, the grand sportive tradition called the Jacobs Olympix takes place on September 28 and 29, with the opening ceremony on Friday evening. The games start at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning. One of the most anticipated student events of the year, the Jacobs Olympix have been a showcase of college spirit and great team play. The three colleges, Krupp, Mercator and College III, as well as the graduate students and alumni, will be competing in "residence block teams" against each other to claim the much-coveted Olympix Cup.

[ Sep 28, 2007]  12 teams with more than 350 athletes compete against each other. This all-university event offers students and Jacobs friends to get to know each other.

In addition to the staple sports of football, basketball and volleyball, this year's Olympix will also feature the fun games: dodge ball, relay race, tug-of-war, through the hoop and three-legged football. A highlight will be again the famous cheerleading competition of the three colleges.

With the Opening Ceremony, on Friday evening, 8 p.m., set in Jacob’s cinema, the Jacobs Olympix promises to be full of excitement, adrenaline and good old college cheers.
