JACOBS UNIVERSITY BREMEN

Welcome to the „Langen Nacht der Geisteswissenschaften“

As part of the Bremen "Long Night of the Humanities", Jacobs University Bremen invites you on October 13 to a program for young and old. Visitors can choose from a diverse program: guided campus tours, another sequel of the popular Kinder-Uni and multifaceted film and audio, lectures and archive tours in honor of Günter Grass who just celebrated his 80th birthday. The program begins at 5 p.m.; a shuttle bus from Bremen City will be available.

[ Oct 11, 2007]  1. Kinder-Uni »How Do We Learn?«
for school children between 7-11 years

Where: Conrad Naber Lecture Hall | When: 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Admission: 2,- euros | Tickets will be sold at the box office

The lecture will last approximately one hour.

Learning always seems to be connected with “school”. Does that mean, you can only learn there? What happens when you are learning – do you think your brain is part of it? And what about “learning while you are asleep”, is that possible?
Biologist Alexander Lerchl and educationist Petra Lietz will give you answers to all these questions. But most important – Learning should be fun!

2. Student Guided Campus Tours: „Experience the World of Jacobs University“«

Where: Starting point is the main entrance | When: 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.

If you want to get to know life on campus, join the tour! The best way of getting to know Jacobs University Bremen is to visit the campus, talk to the students and experience it for yourself. Glimpse into laboratories and see where the students live. Learn about living and working in a diverse community. After all this is Europe’s most international university.

3. Günter-Grass-Night at Jacobs University:

Where: Campus Center & Günter Grass Medienarchiv | When: 6 p.m. - 11 p.m.
