Former American Ambassador to Germany John C. Kornblum to speak at Jacobs University

   

On Tuesday October 23, 2007 Jacobs University Bremen, the Carl-Schurz deutsch-amerikanische Club and the Bremen United States Center invites you to the lecture »The Atlantic World: Dealing with dramatic Change« with John C. Kornblum. The former US Ambassador to Germany, present Chairman of Lazard & Co. GmbH in Berlin and Board of Director member of Jacobs University Foundation of America, discusses the past, present and future of transatlantic relationships between the USA and Europe from the perspective of his thirty years as an American diplomat.

In January 2001 John Kornblum was named Chairman of the international investment bank Lazard, after 30 years as American diplomat. As a specialist in European affairs he has held various high level diplomatic positions in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Finland and with the State Department in Washington. Among these positions Mr Kornblum was political consultant for the US Mission in Bonn and Berlin, assistant American representative with NATO and American Ambassador at the Conference for Security and Cooperation in Europe. In addition Mr Kornblum was assistant section chief of the European and Canadian Affiars Office and special envoy to the Balkans.

The lecture is a part of the CSDAC's Jacobs University Lecture series and begins at
8 p. m. in the Conference Hall of the Campus Center.
