Kurt Höffner (*1937) seeks to express the freedom of art and creativity, and the process of painting itself. His work shown at Jacobs University is strong in color and formal expression. A wide and diverse spectrum of dynamic surface and colored lines is characteristic for the exhibited paintings. We are pointed to the apparently unfinished state of Höffner’s art. “I am looking intuitively for new twists and turns in painting”, the artist explains. “I am not to be easily labeled because I do not want to be restricted by one singular formal language of expression. To me, there are many ways and long ways round to a visual result.” Since 1999 Kurt Höffner has shown his paintings in more than a dozen successful solo and group exhibitions, in companies, banks and galleries.
