German Association of University Professors and Lecturers names Katja Windt as »Professor of the Year 2008« |
Katja Windt, Bernd Rogge Professor of Global Production Logistics at Jacobs University, was honored by the German Association of University Professors and Lecturers with this year's “Professor of the Year” award, which is endowed with 5.000 Euros. The association, the official professional representation of more than 22,000 university professors and young academics in Germany, acknowledged the mechanical engineer and mother of three children as a “role model personality”.

With Katja Windt, who in July of this year also received the high-ranking Alfried Krupp Prize for young professors, the association honored a personality, who as a professor with three children, proves that parenthood, for many female scientists still a considerable obstacle, must not exclude a successful science career.
