DAAD Prize for Taylor Hartrick

The annual DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) award is given to foreign students in Germany for their exceptional academic performance and significant social and intercultural commitment. In 2008, Jacobs student Taylor Hartrick is happy to receive the award with a 1.000 € prize endowment.

[ Sep 01, 2008]  The Admission & Scholarship Committee of Jacobs University had nominated Taylor Hartrick due to his academic excellence and social dedication. Prof. Karin Lochte, Chair of the Jacobs University Board of Governors awarded the certificate at the annual semester opening. She pointed out some of the activities the 21-year old Canadian had achieved during his first year at Jacobs: “You joined the Academic Affairs Committee of the Undergraduate Student Government last year and now you took on the responsibility to chair this committee as a member of the Student Parliament”.

The student of International Politics and History is particularly proud on his creation of new forms of intercultural dialogue, debate as well as integration across previously found borders. He initiated the B – a – Link, a forum with serious commitment connected with creativity. Using this forum, debates and charity events were organized.
