Jacobs University Bremen is seeking a dynamic individual to advance our transdisciplinary environment for learning and research. The successful candidate is expected to play a prominent role in the further development of undergraduate and graduate education and in research.

She/he will be responsible for: a) designing and delivering courses; b) supervising student projects; c) mentoring undergraduate and graduate students; as well as d) developing research projects and applying for third party funding. The language of instruction is English.

The successful candidate must have an international track record of excellence in research, teaching, and funded projects in a discipline/field related to the denomination of the position. Experience with supply chain management, particularly procurement and distribution is an asset. Furthermore, expertise in analyzing large-scale data sets and/or innovative IT solutions would be of particular interest. The candidate is expected to actively engage in individual supervision in Bachelor and Master programs.

The applicant must hold a PhD degree in engineering, management, applied computer science, mathematics or other related fields at the time of the application and will take responsibility, particularly in the programs Industrial Engineering & Management (BSc), as well as Supply Chain Engineering & Management (MSc), offered within Jacobs University’s focus area “Mobility – of people, goods, and information”. Moreover, if possible the candidate will also contribute to the program Data Engineering (MSc). An initial contract will cover three years. Following successful evaluation, tenure is possible.
