Green EFFORTS
Green EFFORTS, stands for Green and Effective Operations at Terminals and in Ports, is a collaborative research project, co-funded by the European Commissions under the Seventh Framework Programme aiming at reduction of emissions by decreasing of energy consumption and improving use of a cleaner energy mix in terminals and ports.
Logistics Forum: Rio de la Plata Region
Rio de la Plata connects metropolitan Buenos Aires, home of approximately 30% of the population of Argentina, with Northern Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Brazil and, increasingly, Bolivia. The common market of South America Mercosur within a market of 260 million people connected the region with Brazilian economy in particular. Germany is an important trade partner of the region, which shows a significant potential for development in the future.
Video Conferencing for Education (VC4E)
The Working Group Maritime Logistics (Prof. Froese) installed a new video conferencing system, which is especially designed for distance learning and blended learning arrangement. This project was kindly supported by WFB Bremen Economic Development. Video conferencing system at Jacobs University corresponds to the newest technical state of the art and satisfies the highest requirements of the modern teaching.
Logistics Forum: Emerging Africa
On the 23rd of September 2010, Jacobs University Bremen and the Kieserling Foundation jointly organized the 1st Logistics Forum, themed "Emerging Africa" . The Forum aimed at facilitating the dialog between the South African logistics experts and their German partners treating topics as opportunities, possibilities and any related issues accordingly to develop the cooperation in the field of logistics.
