I Want to Attend Jacobs University – So, Where am I Going to Live?

When I was looking for a university, I considered a lot of different aspects: what programs were offered, the location of the university, the international aspect of the campus. But one of the most important things to me was campus life – after all, this was the place I was going to be living for the next three to four years of my life! For me, campus life usually brought up three concerns: what was the food like? Could I play the sports I liked? And where would I live? The one thing I always wished was that I could get a really good look at a real student room in the university I was thinking of attending (which wasn’t always possible because I couldn’t visit all the universities I considered). Therefore, I’ve tried to make the process a bit easier for all of you who are curious what a real student apartment looks like at Jacobs University….
Further down please see pictures of the inside of the room, as well as pictures of common spaces in the the colleges and student apartments in the other three residential dorms. Something else you might be interested in is: WHO am I going to live with? After all, it’s not just the comfortable room that matters – you also want to get along with your roommate! Each room at Jacobs in the four residential dorms is a two bedroom apartment with a bathroom which you share with your roommate. Every first-year at Jacobs fills out a survey to match them with a roommate, and is assigned a roommate of the same gender but a different nationality. The second and third year, you can choose to live with a friend of your choosing, who can be of either gender. After the first year, students can also choose to live in a single or a triple as well as the standard double. Some students also choose to live off campus, but this is pretty rare; living on campus is very convenient for getting to classes and activities, and its also really fun!
