The guests were welcomed on campus by Dr. Thorsten Thiel, Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer at Jacobs University and Ulf Hansen, Director of Resource Development at Jacobs. Before touring the campus, the ambassador and Dr. Geuther met with Jacobs students from Bangladesh.

The guests discussed opportunities for future collaboration between Jacobs University and Bangladesh, also with regards to the work of Jacobs University’s Research Center on 'Transformations in Europe and Asia: Markets, States, Societies’ (TEAMS).

The center aims to explore the changing state-market-society-nexus in two regions of the world that since the end of the Cold War have experienced rapid transformations: Europe and Asia. It investigates the changing relations between Asia and Europe from imperialism through the Cold War to current processes of globalization.
