Jacobs University’s theatre group Jacobs Players are taking on a classic play by great German poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. On February 26th and 27th twelve male and female students will stage Goethe's Faust at the campus' TheaterSpace.

February 11, 2011

Produced by Jacobs University’s Arts Coordinator René Wells in co-operation with local amateur actors Dieter Kruse, Horst Köckenmeister and Erika Stuve, the play will stay close to the German original and middle age time period, but in parts also stray into surprising territory when well-known characters travel back to the era of Nostradamus.

The play continues a series of Faust productions which started at the Blumenthaler Bücherstube and Haus Blomendahl. With a mix of young international students from different faculties at Jacobs University, the newly formed Jacobs Players aim to bring a unique interpretation of the classic material to the stage marking a new direction in the Faust performance series.

The first part of the scenic reading, which will be performed in German, takes place on February 26 at 8:00 p.m. at TheaterSpace on the Jacobs University campus, it will be repeated at the same location on February 27 at 7:00 p.pm.

Tickets cost €5 for non-students and €3 for students.
