Last week, Jacobs University once more had an opportunity to prove the enormous value of combining theory and practice in the course of education at the international university.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Gutzmer from Schaeffler AG visited us on campus to provide insights into the activities of his company and a preview of the future. Before a large audience of students, Professor Gutzmer, a graduate in mechanical engineering and Chief Technical Officer of the globally active concern, spoke on the future of mobility and how Schaeffler plans to play a role in shaping it.
“I am very pleased that Professor Gutzmer accepted my invitation and was able to visit us here in Bremen. The matters he spoke of in his lecture are of enormous relevance not only to society as a whole, but also to our students, who devote particular attention to the burning issues of our age in their studies at Jacobs University”, says University President Prof. Dr.-Ing. Katja Windt, and goes on to say, “The experiences and insights that people like Professor Gutzmer can bring across in their lectures are absolutely invaluable for our students. We are extremely pleased to be a part of this fruitful cooperation with Schaeffler.”
