Interlibrary loan obtains learning and research materials not available in the Information Resource Center. Books are borrowed from other libraries, while journal articles are usually sent as black and white print copies. Please read the Interlibrary Loan Policy for full information. If you have any questions, please contact us.
Materials not related to your studies or research (e.g. novels, DVDs) can be requested via ILL through an agreement with the Public Library Bremen.
Submitting an ILL request
Use the Citation Linker and enter the information you have about the article or book you need.
If online access or a print copy is available at Jacobs University, the system will display a link to the full-text article or our library catalog. If we cannot provide the item, you will be offered two options for ordering.
Option 1: Self-order item via the union catalog (GVK)
Self-order the item using the online system of our library consortium. You need your own user name and password to self-order; please send a request per email to receive one. Your request may be denied by the librarian in charge. If you get a personalized account, an introduction how to order in the GBV catalog with tipps and suggestions will be given to you.
Option 2: Order item via Jacobs University ILL
Let the ILL team order the item for you. All you need is your Jacobs University Campus Card.
Further instructions are available in our step-by-step description of how to order an article via ILL.
