Prof. Ursula M. Staudinger Attends the Second Demography Summit of the Federal Government

On 14 May 2013, Germany’s federal government hosts its second national Demography Summit in Berlin. The summit brings together Chancellor Angela Merkel, a number of federal government ministers, members of Länder and municipal governments, and representatives from business and academia to present first results on selected topics of demographic strategy.

Prof. Dr. Ursula M. Staudinger, Dean of the Jacobs Center and Vice President of Jacobs University Bremen, has been invited to the event. She advises the German Federal government on the topic of aging and was Germany’s representative during consultations for the United Nations’ Plan of Action on Aging in 2002.

Prof. Staudinger has co-authored and co-edited the volume of recommendations entitled More Years, More Life, which have been handed over to the Federal President in 2009.
