Policies for Graduate Students
These are the official, comprehensive, and complete regulations of Jacobs University Bremen concerning graduate study and the awarding of master and doctoral degrees.The university does not award credit for academic work that is not expressly associated with an approved degree program.
Policies for Faculty
Jacobs University Bremen recognizes that the German Council of Science and Humanities suggests that the number of Habilitations should be reduced and terminated in the long run. However, for the current transitional period and due to major differences between disciplines with regard to the speed with which this transformation process takes place, Jacobs University wants to provide the possibility for interested scholars to pursue a Habilitation.

To preserve this trust and to maintain an environment conducive to personal and intellectual growth, all members are expected to act according to these principles of integrity, honesty, and fairness.
Guidelines to Ensure Good Academic Practice
These guidelines are based on the recommendations issued by the German Rectors’ Conference on "The Handling of Academic Misconduct at Universities" of July 1998, which are in turn based on the resolutions passed in November 1997, by the Senate of the Max Planck Society under the heading "Procedure in Cases of Suspected Academic Misconduct at Research Institutes Subject to the Max Planck Society Rules of Procedure."
