Announcements

February 29th, 2024

A complete class schedule (including venues) for all Study Programs for March 2024 can be found here. The schedule was updated on February 29th, 2024 and does NOT include online classes. Students taking online classes should be able to access the links and schedule for their classes via other platforms such as MS Teams.

Please bear with us as we navigate and resolve the technical difficulties with our IT system across the Constructor University platforms.

Constructor University is currently affected by a cyber incident which started on February 6th, 2024. After the incident was discovered, the university's servers were immediately taken offline to protect systems and data. Constructor University is currently working at full speed to get all systems up and running again. The university has set up a temporary solution and is ensuring that all educational programs can continue.

We have enough evidence at this point to believe the incident is limited to service interruption. The affected services include but are not limited to course administration, issuance of transcripts, issuance of enrollment and other confirmation letter, processing of requests to be excused, etc.and are currently delayed until further notice. We ask for your understanding that we cannot provide any further information at this time due to the ongoing disruption.

Please feel free to download official letters in German and in English confirming the delay in our processes in order to secure an extension on your applications.

Dear Students,

This announcement contains general information regarding the consequences of a so-called “CampusNet hold”. It is meant as a reminder; regulations have not changed. However, we do recommend that you read this carefully in order to be fully informed.

If your CampusNet is blocked for reasons of missing enrollment requirements (e.g. missing health insurance coverage or residence permit) or outstanding fees with the university, this has consequences for your academic progress.
Students who have a blocked CampusNet account will not be able to access CampusNet/Moodle/Turnitin, which will also mean not being able to access the course/learning materials in CampusNet/Moodle/Turnitin and thus resulting in consequences for the exam preparations.

In particular, please be reminded that you can be excluded from examinations on this basis.

If you are barred from an examination due to a CampusNet hold, you will not be on the participant list for that examination. This may mean, for example, that you are not given access to an e-examination. You do not have the right to participate in the examination. Since the exclusion from the examination is the student’s responsibility  (due to the failure to fulfill the enrollment requirements or comply with their financial obligations), it will also result in the loss of one examination attempt out of your three attempts in total.

If you take the steps to have your hold lifted on short notice before the examination, it is possible that your CampusNet is unblocked shortly before the examination takes place, so that you are eligible to sit the examination but our record of it is not yet updated. If this is the case and you believe you should be eligible to attend the examination, you can choose to attend it on a conditional basis. Registrar Services will then check your case after the examination has taken place. If it turns out that you were eligible at the time of the examination, then your examination results will be considered as valid. If you were not eligible, i.e. the CampusNet hold was still active at the time of the exam, then any results you achieve in the examination are disregarded and the examination attempt is considered an unexcused absence. This takes precedence over withdrawal applications or official excuses, i.e. if you are excluded from an examination due to a CampusNet hold, this will result in a missed/failed attempt even if you additionally apply for an excuse or a withdrawal.

Usage of German Certificates Abroad

German certificates are generally recognized abroad. However, sometimes you may be asked to provide a proof of their authenticity. You can do that in two main ways: Legalization and Apostille.

The legalization is done by the embassy of the foreign country in Germany and it ascertains the authenticity of the seal on the certificate.

The apostille substitutes the legalization procedure. It applies to the countries that have signed the Haag Treaty as of October 5, 1961. The certificate with the Apostille attached is thus usable in the foreign country. If a country has not signed the Haag Treaty, the certificate must be legalized in the embassy of the country in Germany.

For the list of countries of the Haag Treaty, please click here.

In Bremen the apostille is issued by the Senator für Inneres und Sport. Before they do it however, your certificate needs to be pre-legalized by the Senator für Bildung und Wissenschaft. This is done by:

Mrs. Czarnecki at Uni Bremen

czarnecki@uni-bremen.de
Phone: + 49 421 21860366
Fax: +49 421 200 49 4228
Monday and Thursday: 09:00 to 12:00
Wednesday: 14:00 to 16:00
Costs: 15 € per certificate (CASH only)

After pre-legalizing it, please turn to the Senator für Inneres und Sport:
