Betti Hartmann (University Lecturer)

CURRICULUM VITAE

I was born on the 11th of June, 1974 in Lohne, a small city in the North-West of Germany. At secondary school I became interested in Natural Science and Mathematics and decided to study physics at the University of Oldenburg. I started in October 1993 and passed my pre-diploma ("Vordiplom") in August 1995 and my diploma (MSc) in March 1999. The title of my diploma thesis was "Gravitating monopoles" ("Gravitierende Monopole"). In April 1999, I obtained a post as research associate (Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin) at the University of Oldenburg in the Field Theory Group . During the following two and a half years, I was mainly doing research for my PhD thesis "Monopoles and Dyons in Flat and Curved Space" . I obtained my PHD in September 2001 and had a Post-Doc in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Durham, UK from October 2001 to August 2003. From 1st of September 2003 to 31st August 2006 I have been employed as Temporary Lecturer at Jacobs University Bremen ("International University Bremen" at that time). From 1st September 2006 to 31st August 2007 I have been a ANR Post-Doc at the Universite de Tours, France. In May 2006 I did my Habilitation in Theoretical Physics at the University of Oldenburg. I am back at Jacobs University since 1st September 2007 where I am now employed as a University Lecturer.
