We are looking forward to celebrating the success of our graduates with you all.
There will be a reception after the ceremony at approximately 1pm at the  Campus Center.

  • Honorary Doctorate Award: Prof. Ada E. Yonath

Our new honorary doctor is one of the very few female scientists to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry:
Ada E. Yonath is an Israeli crystallographer, best known for her pioneering work on the structure of the ribosome.

In 2009, she was the first woman in 45 years to receive the award.
Yonath is currently the Director of the Kimmelman Center for Biomolecular Assemblies and a Professor of Structural Biology at the Weizmann Institute of Science.

  • Guest Speaker: Dr. Insa Thiele-Eich

She wants to be the first female German astronaut to enter outer space:
Our keynote speaker Dr. Insa Thiele-Eich, meteorologist at the University of Bonn, has courageously, ambitiously and curiously started the training for the flight into outer space in the year 2020 in August 2017.

In her scientific career, she conducts basic research for improved weather and climate forecasting.
