Summer conference of the German Genetics Society (GfG) on |
In the meeting RNA-mediated control of retrotransposons we will discuss recent developments on the mechanisms by which retroelements amplify in genomes, as well as the regulatory pathways that the hosts employ to counteract this process. Amongst these are RNA interference and related, partially overlapping epigenetic mechanisms. We also will discuss, how the mobile genetic elements became domesticated during evolution.
The conference starts on Wednesday, 30. May 2018 at 6 pm and ends with lunch on 1. June 2018.
The following invited speakers have confirmed their attendance:
Marco Catoni, University of Cambridge (UK)
Joan Curcio, Wadsworth Center (USA)
Jose Luis Garcia-Perez, MRC Edinburgh (UK)
David Garfinkel, University of Georgia, Athens (USA)
Shiv Grewal, NIH Bethesda (USA)
Ingrid Grummt, DKFZ, Heidelberg (Germany)
Pascale Lesage, Paris (France)
Erez Levanon, Bar-Ilan University (Israel)
Rob Martienssen, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (USA)
Thomas Winckler, University of Jena (Germany)
The preliminary program shown below is subject to change.
Amongst the submitted abstracts, about ten will be selected for oral presentations. All participants are invited to contribute to the two Poster Sessions.
