Current Corona Regulations on Campus

Jacobs University’s primary commitment, besides offering a first-class education, is to keep its campus and its community safe and healthy – students, employees, external services providers, guests and visitors alike. We therefore implemented a number of regulations intended to slow the spread of the virus and protect the health of our community. These regulations apply on the Jacobs University campus, in addition to the official corona regulation of the Federal Government and the Federal State of Bremen.

We kindly ask all members of our community to adhere to the following campus rules – employees, students and guests alike. We cordially thank you for your understanding and for your support!

In general, please wear a mouth-nose cover in all publicly accessible indoor areas as well as in corridors at all times.

In general, please maintain a minimum distance of 1.5 meters from others wherever possible – indoors and outdoors.

Adhere to maximum number of people per room whenever possible. This applies to office spaces, but also to any kind of event. Please generally consider signs or instructions indicating a maximum number of people per space.

Private social gatherings must adhere to the mandated rules in Bremen. Please observe the limits of participant numbers per gathering on the Bremen State Website.

Ensure sufficient and continuous ventilation or fresh air supply in all indoor areas.

In all events and indoor areas on campus (academic & non-academic), the "3G rule" (genesen, geimpft, getestet) applies: only those who have been fully vaccinated, recovered or tested negative will be allowed to indoor teaching activities (lectures, workshops, etc.), public access facilities, and on-campus events.

Please wash and disinfect your hands regularly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Especially after using the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are unavailable. Use the installed disinfectant dispensers in all serveries, the coffee bar and all relevant administrative offices.

Refrain from touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

Make use of the official Corona-Warn-App of the German government in general, and particularly the use of the Luca App when taking advantage of on-campus facilities, events, and teaching activities (lectures, workshops, etc.).
