01/10/2017 MOLIFE RESEARCH SEMINAR: Prof. Dr. Haemmerich

Tuesday, January 10, 2017 - 13:00
Room/Location:
Lecture Hall of Research II

Molife Research Seminar by:

Prof. Dr. Dieter Haemmerich, MUSC Children’s Hospital, Charleston, SC, USA

Title of the talk:

Computational modeling of drug delivery

Abstract:

This presentation will introduce concepts of mathematical modeling for drug drug delivery applications. Several of the commonly used modeling approaches including classic pharmacokinetic models, multi-compartmental models and various cell uptake models will be presented. Practical applications of these models will be discussed, particularly relating to cancer therapies and targeted drug delivery. Further, imaging-based and other methods required to validate models and to extract model parameters will be presented.
